Attention Families,

Have you heard the news about the Steve Carter Literacy Tutoring Program? This program will provide a $1,000 digital voucher for literacy tutoring services for eligible public school children in grades K through 5. You can read the press release here for additional information.

·       Students in grades K-3 are eligible if they scored below proficient on their beginning of year screener.

·       Students in grades 4-5 are eligible if they scored below Mastery in English Language Arts on the Spring 2022 LEAP assessment.

·       Eligible children with an IEP or 504 plan may participate in this program.

·       Eligible children will be selected for the tutoring vouchers on a first-come, first-served basis.

Families will use an online portal to register their students. If you want to be notified when the student registration portal opens, leave your contact information here. You will need your child’s test scores and 10-digit LASID number to register in the portal. If you do not know this information, contact your child’s school now to obtain this information so you will be ready to register your child when the portal opens.

Families who have additional questions after contacting their school system can email LouisianaLiteracy@la.gov.

Do you know a dentist that works well with adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities? If so, please share this flyer with them that has instructions on how they can sign up as a provider for the Adult Waiver Dental Program.
